As the full facts and figures start to emerge about industrial scale “Wind Factories” (sorry, no more cuddly terms like “farms”), it is becoming increasingly apparent that economies and distortions of the truth are the order of the day for companies set on cashing in on handsome government subsidies and consumer concern about the environment.

However, in this cynical, manipulative age, where “spin” and money are so often hand in hand, it is not at all surprising that the real facts, the true costs, the clever illusionary tactics and the paper chase to find the real information is the often depressing reality.

The Internet is a wonderful place to find information that would have until recently required extensive investigation in national or academic establishments, lengthy correspondence or subscriptions to scientific journals and research institutions - The world wide web is also full of junk !!

What  we have tried to do in this section is highlight the former whilst trying to avoid the latter (though some of it does make entertaining reading !!)
