BLOT Campaign

BLOT has been formed by village residents from Bozeat, Lavendon and Harrold along with villages and communities from the surrounding areas to understand, inform and campaign against the proposed development by energy company Npower (Npower renewables) for a Windfarm at Nun Wood.

Nun Wood is situation roughly across the three counties meeting point of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire (and indeed, a stone waypoint still marks the meeting point of these three large “shire” counties).

The proposed Windfarm stretches on the diagonal from the Harrold Road out of Bozeat across to the A509 / A428 meeting point at Warrington Toll Bar roundabout and the BP Garage (see map right for full details). The proposed development comes within a few hundred yards (or metres) of a number of properties within the area and is less than a mile from virtually all of the village communities mentioned above.

Note: We would like to apologise to the residents of Harrold -  we couldn’t find a way to incorporate the “H” into our campaign name (we did try BHLOT but it didn’t quite have the same ring to it).

None the less, Harrold is a very important and valuable village in our area. Like Bozeat, it could face the double “whammy” of both the Podington and Nun Wood developments right on its doorstep. With such a beautiful and tranquil village and a country park by the River Ouse, you would, we are sure, pay a high price for such a development (Lavendon by the way also gets a double whammy -  as if having all those turbines bearing down on it wasn’t enough, it has a view in the opposite direction of the ones planned for Emberton....)
